KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Scott
This was only my second time seeing them & I hate it's on the farewell tour. Last time was on the Reunion tour & I just couldn't believe how much better they were this time out.

This show, being a farewell, was a chance for the fans to see it all one more time. From the curtain dropping on Roger Daltreys scream in Won't Get Fooled Again to the confetti during Rock & Roll All Nite at the end it was all there & I never wanted it to end.

The show started with them descending from the rafters which I understand they just started doing playing Detroit Rock City. Everyone shot to their feet & never sat back down. I honestly can't remember every song but what sticks in my head was how great to finally hear Lick It Up & Heaven's On Fire live. Before doin Lick It Up they kept showing this girl on the screen in a leopard skin top EXTREMELY well-endowed!! They kept cutting back to her I think trying to get her to take it off but she never did. Paul seemed to sing Lick It Up in her direction mostly. ha ha ha

It was still the classics we heard...Firehouse, Love Gun where Paul flies over the audience to the little stage in the back of the coliseum. This was cool since I was maybe 20 feet away from there. There was also Let Me Go, Rock & Roll, Parasite, Black Diamond, Cold Gin...another big highlight was 2,000 Man! Ace's solo went on for a good 10 minutes & he's added the 2001 Theme into it. It was incredible & had a great video showing during it of a spaceship shaped like a guitar blasting off & traveling thru space. Lots of cool video was shown actually. During Do You Love Me, there's a GREAT montage of old footage from early concerts to Gene on the Mike Douglas show with a shot of Totie Fields (I think) giving Gene a look of "What the hell are you??" Hysterical!!

It's so hard to sum up this show since it's the whole 25 years rolled into a little over 2 hours. They're definately going out on top! They've never sounded better! I've already got tickets for Roanoke & I may go to Raleigh, Va Beach & any other shows I can make it to. I STRONGLY recommend to anyone wether you've seen them before or never have to go to this show!! You will NOT be disappointed!
