KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bill Marshall
After accidently sending my first review before it was fully completed, let me make one more attempt. For any fan of this band, or great rock and roll in general, you need to try and make one of these shows. Not only is this possibly the last time to see a legend "live", but also, at least here in Houston, in fine form. No Peter does not pound the hell out of his drums anymore, but he was solid throughout. Ace has lost some pounds and sounded great, as did Gene and Paul. The show was, as always, excellent, with as much or more fireworks then any tour before it. I also thought it was cool seeing them perform the songs that Peter and Ace did not record (Lick It Up, Heaven's On Fire and I Love It Loud), though Eric Carr's in concert renditions were better. One really cool and new twist was the Paul's solo I Still Love You intro to Black Diamond. Nice added touch. I also thought it was pretty obvious which song got the least positive response: Psycho Circus. It's a gre! at song, but hopefully the guys were listening, because The Army was not happy with the effort at a "new" Kiss album (played by a variety of musicians). Anyway, it was a great concert, the fans were really into it, and it was a great way to say goodbye to four guys who have meant so much to so many!
