Another GREAT performance!!! The Irvine show came off without a hitch, unlike the March 18th show I attended at Anaheim where Gene was left suspended 2-3 feet above the stage after his descent from the sky during God of Thunder, and Paul's flying trapeze was inoperational. Didn't matter. KISS is KISS and every show is great, and last night's show at Irvine was no exception.
I was a little caught up with emotion at the Anaheim show, since I believed it was the last time I would be seeing my heroes. Since I had already seen the Farewell Tour once, I stubbornly tried to not attend the Irvine or San Bernardino shows this weekend, but the temptation was too great - THANK GOD!!! Last night's performance was flawless, and now I truly feel 'fulfilled' and I am prepared to go on without KISS (at least as we know them as a touring band). I'm not sure why I didn't have this same feeling after the Anaheim show, but I believe it is becuase I was simply too upset thinking that I was seeing my heroes for the last time. Well, now I understand why I now feel so gratified - the band said goodbye to me at Anaheim, which was tough to take, but last night I was able to say goodbye to the band. If this is truly the Farewell Tour, and I believe it is because Paul and Gene would not do this simply as a gimmick, I have now seen my heroes for the last time and I feel just fine with that. It's time to let KISS move on and pursue their other endeavors and I wish them all the best, because that is what they have always given us - THE BEST!!!
Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter - I've been a fan since the beginning and it has been a wonderful ride. Thank you all for the great memories. You will be missed, but NEVER forgotten. LEGENDS NEVER DIE!!!
