I attended the 8-18-00 KISS show in lafayette, La.. It was my second time seeing KISS. I had previously saw the on the Reunion tour. The Farewell show was all that I hoped it would be plus more. What I thought was really neat was the fact that KISS has never sold at Lafayette or Shreveport but they came anyway because they wanted all fans to have a chance to see them again. The set was the same as the other shows I have been reading about. Ted Nugent made more stupid remarks and Skid Row was pretty good. I sat next to a guy in full Gene costume and that was cool.
Ace didnt seem as washed up as he appeared on the Reunion tour. He looked pretty alive. Gene was awesome as usual. Bottom line is that I left show very depressed that this was the last I was gonna see them. It would be worth skipping teaching my classes tomorrow to see them in Biloxi but I better not. These guys are the greatest thing that ever happened to rock music and I am going to miss them! Buy the way if you were at Lafayette show Friday night email me I would love to discuss the concert!
