KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: David Earles
Just had to let people know that if they don't make it out to see the boys, they're gonna' regret it. The Memphis show on the 25th of April goes right into my top 2 KISS shows ever (out of the 9 I've been to). Everything went off (mostly) without a hitch. Technically, the show was perfect. No glaring flubs to report. More pyro than I have EVER seen for an indoor show, even Peter looked stunned in the finale, the stuff was blowing up for days, it seemed. I've seen some reviews kick Ace for being out of whack, but I disagree. He did flub the vocal on "Shock Me" but Paul stepped in for a verse and got the song back on track. His playing, however, was awesome. I've come to expect this from Ace. On the '96 Reunion Tour through Memphis the guy thought he was in Nashville for half the show. I find that sort of endearing. The band seemed in very high spirits and the crowd was stoked. All the bare breast's displayed on the video screen were a nice bonus, as well. The 9 year old boy next to me thought so, too. The music was tight and the band was THIN! (Gene's face was kinda' chunky, but hey, the girdle stayed tied.). The computer animations and film clips played during several songs were neat to watch, as well. Go see this show. A classy finale to an awesome career. 4 stars.
