KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Daniel Resch
In 4th grade, a friend and I went to a record store. I noticed these 4 strange looking charactors on an album cover, the album was "ALIVE", and it changed my life forever. Friday night was the last time my girl friend Jen got to wittness the onlt band who knows how to put on a show. First up skid row. They were actualy preety good, they didnt play long enough, maybe 25 minuets. Time to get some beer before Ted. Ted really got the crowd fired up.Im not a big fan of Ted, but he is really fun to see and here, even tho hes an ass. Before Ted is done, it's time to take a leak and get a few more cold ones. Speaking of cold, it was a brisk 40 degree, the Marcus is an out door theatre next to lake Michagan, and let me tell you brother, it was cold hard nips every where , so it was o.k. On too the show! I was so exited but sad too. Seeing them come down to the stage was awsome. For those of you who have not seen this yet, cherrish this vision forever, you wont see it again. They sounded so good but I dont think it was loud enough, do to the fact of it being out doors, you lose some of the sound. It's never loud enough for me.The energy they had wasover the top, never slowing down. Ace, well, he was great, good solos, got a little lost in "LET ME GO', but it sounded just like "alive". He never let up, solid all night.Paul, he is the best show man around. His voice was a little shakey at first but was fine at the end. Peter, well....at first it looked like hed rather be some where else, butt soon started bashing those skins, when I LOVE IT LOUD come up. He did do asolo, it was cool. I have never seen Gene so animated before, he was all over the stage. Looks heavier than the CIRCUS tour, but he was so much fun to watch.Do you love me,asked Paul, then they went into it. Very sad watching the vidio screen, knowing this is it. Paul couldnt come to the audience , he tries three times, but it didnt work. we didnt care, but he looked pissed. The end of the ! show, what can I say, the flames ,ridicculous amounts of confetti, bombs, sparks and the lights, the light show was incredable. I hated to see it end and im still in denile. I feel like my dog died. Thank you KISS, you changed my life, for 25 years, you made me smile every day, and made life easy to deal with. It's sad to know that there wont be a next time, but thank you, the legent will never die.
