KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Michael Bournazian
The Kiss Farewell concert at the Molson Centre was no better or worse than 1998 Psycho Circus show or the 1996 Reunion show. In other words, IT WAS AMAZING! The band played great and they were definitely having a good time on stage.

Skid Row was good and it was actually nice hearing all those old songs again. The new singer though is no Sebastian Bach. On most songs he was okay, but sometimes for the high notes his voice didn't lend itself well. Overall, they were good but forgettable.

Ted Nugent was not on the other hand! He put on his usual wild show, and his comments were quite colorful. In particular, he noted that in the American south they have a saying: "If you don't speak English, then get the fuck out of America." That did not go over too well with an audience made of mainly French Canadians living in the mainly English country of Canada on the weekend of the Quebec National Holiday. He's also quite the Republican, that's all I'll say on that.

The setlist for Kiss was like the rest, so I won't bother repeating it. Some observations:

1) Paul was in fine form and voice. His stint as Pantom has greatly improved his voice and range. He was talkative and jovial and quite the showmanship. I will definitely miss him the most when this really all ends.

2) Peter was in a VERY GOOD mood. Half the time he was shown on the screen, he had a smile on his face. His drumming was great too.

3) Gene was Gene, point blank.

4) Ace was in good form, although his guitar seemed to cut out often during his solos. Either that or he was hitting bum notes. Anyways, he was definitely on as well.

Like I said, this show was no better or worse than the other two shows from recent memory, but that's fine because that means it was a great show.

I definitely pledge allegiance the state of rock 'n roll.
