KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jeff
I'm probably gonna catch hell for this, but it's time for Kiss to go. How many times can they rehash the same show and keep everyone's interest? Granted, the show went off without a hitch, but so what. I would think they'd get bored playing the same songs night after night. Don't they realize that the crowd would crazy to hear some obscure songs? How about something from "The Elder?" What about "Hard Times," "Rocket Ride," "Two Timer," "Almost Human?" Paul's rants were so contrived it made me wanna puke. For example, everyone knew he was going to swing out over the audience. His "I've always wanted to be out among you people" was unnecessary. And once out there, why play "Love Gun" like all the other shows? Why not "Mr. Speed" or "Room Service?" And why did he take his shirt off? My god, his flab hanging over his belt was nauseating. My wife even commented on how horrible he looked. Yeah, I know, he's 50+ right. So leave on your freakin' shirt!!! Ace's solo was embarrasing? Why even bother? At those volume levels, just hitting open strings would have sounded better. After a great guitarist like Ted Nugent leaves the stage, a crappy solo like that just seems all the worse. Gene was a bright spot, but once again, why not do the fire breathing and blood spitting during different songs? How about "Larger Than Life," "Charisma," or "Sweet Pain?" And why not let Peter sing more? His voice is incredible. We would have loved to hear "Mainline," "Getaway," "Hooligan," "Baby Driver," or "Dirty Livin."

I really can't believe I'm writing this because I really am a huge fan and have been for over twenty five years. I guess I should have known what to expect, but I was foolish. If you've never seen Kiss, you'll love the show. It really is one of the best you'll see. Unfortunately, I'd already seen it....one to many times I guess...........
