KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Elliott Crawford
I went to this show without a ticket. That's the first time I've taken such a gamble at a KISS show, but I bought seats at the box office the day of the show that had just been released by the promoter and they were the best seats I EVER had at a KISS show!

I was able to see a bit of the Set up and was amazed at all that goes into putting on a show like this. I play in a couple of band and grumble at all that we have to do to set up but what we go through is knothing compared to waht the KISS crew does on a daily basis (but they get paid a lot more too) Anyway, I was very impressed at how they got that beast of a production up and running and tonight it was flawles! (or as close to perfection as a rock show needs to be IMO)

The set was:

Detroit Rock City
Deuce
Shout It Out Loud
I Love It Loud
Shock Me
Firehouse
Do you Love Me
Calling Dr. Love
Psycho Circus
Heaven's on Fire
Let me go Rock and Roll
2000 Man
Lick it up
God of Thunder
Cold Gin
100,000 Years
Love Gun
Black Diamond
ENCORES
Beth
Rock and Roll all Nite

Notes: Peter stretches out his drum break in 100,000 years into a mini-solo. All the members of the band leave the stage. I've ALWAYS loved the drum solo for 100,000 years (off Alive!) this was a shortened version that worked really well (IMO)

Tips for seeing this tour at an indoor venue:
1. Bring and use ear protection!
2. Wear something cool...the heat from the pyro blasts is enough to make you sweat! It's got to be brutal on stage in costumes and makeup!

I had a GREAT time...perhaps the best show I've seen EVER and (I'm including the Love Gun Tour). KISS seemed like they were having a great time too. I noticed a little tension at times between Ace and Paul..but nothing really major It seemed that Ace would take his time sometimes and Paul felt the need to direct him into the proper position. After the Bass solo/flying thing Gene does in God of Thunder, Paul and Peter and Gene started off the song...Ace was still backstage! He casually walked out, and joined the song already in Progress. During some of Paul's talks with the Audience I could see Ace cracking up and mumbling "Bullshit" to himself. (I had REALLY close seats).

Anyway, these little things didn''t stop a great show and each member did look like they were having a great time for most of the concert. I know I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to more shows on this tour.
