G'Day from Aussie!
Well what can I say about this band that has not already been remarked on before?
KISS were just phenomenal last night in Perth, Western Australia. From the start, where they surprised the majority of the crowd with coming from the ceiling down to the stage, they absolutely enthralled the audience. The only sour point - all the programs were gone when I got there and hour before showtime!! What the hell is with that?
Eric Singer was great. All crap aside, he adds a new dimension to the Kiss equation and more power to him. The flaming drumsticks performance was amazing to say the least. It was an effective conclusion to a hot drum solo. The guy kicked ass! He also added great vocals to black diamond.
Paul, Gene and Ace were as expected - fantastic! I wont retrace what everyone else has already said. To coin a phrase from Sammy Hagar - "what is understood - need not be discussed".
Special / funny moments : Ace had trouble hooking his guitar to the wire to take it up towards the roof during his solo. He got it on the third attempt! After that he said "damn - I hate that shit! Fair enough. Paul sang "Shandi" midway through "I still love you". He said " hang on you guys wanted to hear something else", referring to what fans had asked for earlier on the day on the radio. It was a nice touch. Took me back to when I was 12 years old in 1980 when they first toured. Paul has become a first class singer over the years and certainly delivers the emotion behind every song.
Encore time brought the Parasite, She, Making love medley, which was great to hear. I was made for loving you got a fantastic response. Rock n Roll All night finished it off beautifully. What a band.
Thanx to Paul, Gene, Ace, Peter, Eric Carr (RIP),Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick for what you have brought into my life. You truly give fans what they want. All the best.
