I have just attended the KISS Farewell Tour on May 26th (Friday) at the Pittsburgh Star Lake Amphitheatre! Oh man, it was totally unbelievable! I have never heard a crowd be so excited about a band! They were screaming, pumping their fists into the air, and holding up the official heavy metal sign!
This was my first and last tour and I have never had such a wonderful time in my entire life like I had on Friday! The night started out with the tech crew releasing the KISS curtain, something happened and it got caught on one side. One of the tech men had to go up and rearrange it. I have to admit that guy had balls, because I surely would not have done that! I can remember when the saying came on; I immediately jumped out of my seat and started screaming at the top of my lungs! I was so exstatic! ! There they were being lowered down onto the the main stage! I have to admit that my seats were not the greatest, but from I did have I could see them somewhat well. The one thing that made the whole show great for me is the fact they were really there in life and I was wittnessing them first hand playing and singing! I have never been so happy! That show was worth the $80 I paid for it! There were a few flaws: guitars were hard to make out what song they were playing and could only notice the song at the middle and the back vocals were not too hot, but other than that it was a fantastic show! I wish that I could relive that night at the Star Lake, but I still have one more show to go to, so I have one more good night coming up at Erie on June 19th (Monday)!
The show started out with Detroit Rock City with the big screen in the background showing a car about to fall off the road. The car turned around and hit a truck just when Paul sang it would. Everything was set to the place it was supposed to be at! The other song that made an impact on me was Psycho Circus with small clips from the Psycho Circus official video on the big screen! I also liked the part when they showed clips from the early 70s to the mid 70s! The best part for me was when Peter Criss came out to sing 'Beth'! That almost made me cry considering Peter Criss is my favorite band member and I knew that would be the last time I would hear him sing that with KISS or at all! There were no flaws with Gene or Paul flying, but I did notice that Gene started to spit out the blood before he was supposed to and tried to clean it so that nobody would notice! I thought that Ace's and Peter's solos were pretty good. I don't know what people are referring to when they say that Ace, Gene, Paul, and Peter are not musicians. Yeah right, they must have been drinking too much alcohol. That or are simply jealousy! The KISS Farewell Tour is something that a true KISS fan could not miss! That show sure has made a huge impact on me and I will always remember it for the rest of my days til the end of time!
