One Last Kiss For Providence!
To descripe Kiss' final farewell as it hit my home town of Providence Rhode Island, I can only sum it up it one word, "Emotional". I have seen Kiss many times over their vast journey. This last stop was so different from the rest. I was touched by Paul's great words and thanks to the people of Providence. It was odd watching grown men my age with tears running down their cheeks. It was so hard to say good-bye but KISS,in true KISS form, made it an enjoyable experience that no KISS fan should miss! The show was so tight and so musically great that it was by far the best I have even seen of the boys!
As I have read in other reviews, the set list was basically the same with maybe a switch in order. I was a bit disappointed they didn't do more from "Psycho Circus" except the title track. The classic songs came out heavier and more grinding than I have ever heard the original four play before. Point in fact was "God Of Thunder", that was as slow as the album version and even more grinding! gene's augmented voice in the spoken part of the song towards the end (I, am the lord of the wasteland...)was spine tingling. The historic video montage shown on the giant screen during "Do You Love Me" would brought tears to the dedicated fans, like myself, through-out the Providence Civic Center. reminding us of what we have been through with Gene, Ace, Paul & Peter through these rollercoaster years of childhood to adulthood.
To me KISS will always be remembered as The hottest band in the world and also the band that always, through good and bad times, have put a smile on this KISS-Maniac's face!
