KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Donna
I was fortunate enough to have been able to have caught the show in Richmond, Virignia, last night. As ususal, it was a great show with Kiss belting out all their normal rock and roll anthems. The band had an awesome stage with two KISS light up signs in the back and the tension mounted as the enormous black Kiss curtain hid the band's stage equipment. The tension mounted as "You wanted the best and you got the best..." was declared across the PA system. The show started around 9:20 or so and the guys came bursting onto the stage with a loud rendition of "Detroit Rock City". They followed this with Kiss fan's favorites like "Deuce", "I Love It Loud", "Do You Love Me", "Shock Me", "Firehouse", "Cold Gin", "2000 Man", "Black Diamond", "Shout It Out Loud", "Dr. Love". The show was coming to an end as Peter came out on stage to sing "Beth". When this was over Peter was joined with the others to take a bow and then close the show with "I Want to Rock and Roll All Nite". Ace was especially at his best with his blaring guitar solos and right on vocals. It seemed to be a good crowd and I noticed that many people are sort of following the band and catching more than one show. As an avid fan, I think seeing three shows myself, I think it would have been nice to have mixed the set list up a bit, possibly showcasing Peter's vocal ability on a song I haven't heard in a while like "Hard Luck Woman". That being said, just like every other Kiss show I have seen it was, as always, a great show being everything I have come to expect from a Kiss show. My ears are still ringing and I love it. I know it has been a long tour for them and I know that they are tired, but I still will hold out hope that Kiss, if not in this form, possibly its former form (with Bruce and Eric - they are great with or without the makeup), will reconsider and one day do another tour. Thank you Kiss for being the great band that you are, your fans thank you.
