KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Brad Boswell
Skid Row and Ted Nugent were very good. I was disappointed in the Rockford crowd, at least some of the crowd in my section. They seemed like they didn't really even want to be there. Their loss. On to Kiss...

The MetroCentre is a small venue, the smallest in which I've ever seen a Kiss concert, but they were able to fit the whole stage and all of the effects into it.

Same set list as last time (I saw them in Chicago on May 11, 2000). What was very cool about tonight's show was the sound. In Chicago, it seemed like the sound was distorted and there were some technical glitches here and there. Nothing like that tonight. Everyone in the band seemed to be having a blast. No attitudes like I read about in the Carbondale reviews. The guys are only human and maybe they reflect what the crowd projects. Overall, the Rockford crowd was very cool. I had some folks in my section that thought it is acceptable to sit at a Kiss concert (it is not and, if you do, you might as well stay home next time). And also... A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE**** Just because Paul says 'Goodnight' at the end of Black Diamond, you should not leave! Rockford lost at least a thousand at that point. Maybe it was for the better because the remaining crowd got louder and crazier during RARAN than the crowd had all night. I'll get down off of my soapbox and close by saying that I have no regrets for a penny spent or a mile driven to see these guys. They are and always will be 'The hottest band in the world!" Thanks for 27 great years, guys...
