KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Ricky Trest
Welcome to the SHOW!!! I have been listening to KISS since 75. I have seen many shows throughout the years. Kiss I would like to say thank you for all of the magical years. Through the good times and the not so good times KISS has delivered the magic that no other band could come close to delivering. The Alamodome concert was a bittersweet affair. I was pumped yet as the night moved on I realized the end was coming. You could sense the same feeling throughout the crowd of nearly 25,000 that this was the end of a journey and our heroes were saying goodbye. I spent some time at the hard rock cafe on the river walk before the show. At the Hard Rock KISS fans were everywhere. There was a 5 year old kid decked out as the SPACE ACE. I am 32 years old and I was amazed at how far the KISS magic has spread during the years. To all of the KISS Army, Keep on Rocking. I made it outside the Alamodome at 5:45 pm. The fans were in a frenzy buying all the Tshirts n Tour books. The parking lot was full of KISS music n people enjoying life. Once inside the dome I noticed that you now can pay to get your face painted. The fans consisted of 3 generations of the KISS Army.

Skid Row opened the show at 7pm on time. Skid Row was very good with the new lead singer. Youth Gone Wild, and 18 n Life were highlights of thier show.

Ted Nugent hit the stage at 8pm and played his off on all of his motown classics. Highlights were his KISS my Ass song which seemed comical. He also was allowed to do an encore where his shot an arrow into his american made guitar. Terrible Ted did use his freedom of speech rights to piss off all of the local newspapers about not speaking english routine. The almodome was now in a frenzy as the GODS of THUNDER came down from the heavens at 915 pm. DRC opened the show and KISS kicked ass and never let the crowd down the whole night. I love it Loud was the highlight of the show. The flames were very hot during Firehouse. You could feel the heat all the way back to the rafters. The stage was huge and has to be the best stage in history. Love Gun kicked ass and GOD of Thunder ruled the night air. Kiss played black diamond and the stage erupted into flames n fireworks. I will always remember what Paul said at the end of the night. All bands owe everything to their fans and not vice versa . I will never forget KISS they will live on in my heart. If you are a KISS fan or not a KISS fan I urge you to go see the magic that is KISS. Gene, Paul, Peter, and Ace, Legends Never DIE!!
