Dispite what you've heard about Skid Row, I thought they were great. The new singer is certainly no Sebastian, but then again, that boy was one of a kind. They served their purpose very well though as they really got a great response from the very minimal crowd, at that point. Ted, was Ted. Political, tongue in cheek fun.
KISS! Now I could bore you with all the set list details and alike, but you have read all about it by now. I would like to use this space to talk about the buzz of excitement that ran through that amphitheater from start to finish. What a difference a great crowd makes to a show! I have seen KISS many, many times. With and without make-up and I have never been at any venue, whether New York, Philadelphia or New Jersey, where the crowd response was as great as it was last night! From start to finish, everyone was on their feet, screaming their lungs out and just absolutly loving what they were witnessing. And what we all got in return, was the show we lifelong fans dream about. I have never seen the boys play with more energy, and all four wore smiles a mile wide. Even Peter, who at times seems to be in agony behind the drums, looked like a kid again! There were a few mistakes, a few blown harmonys, a missed cue here or there. ( both times Ace) But so what????? That is what live performance is all about folks. The pyro was amazing. The KISS signs were blinding. The confetti, was like trying to see through a Pocono Mountain blizzard. And both Gene and Paul's flying rigs worked without a hitch.
As a fan, I say thanks to KISS for so many years of the "Greatest show on Earth". But the really big thank you goes to North Eastern PA, for making "The Greatest", even greater. Scranton, you did yourselves proud!
