KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jen
The other reviews summed up a lot, but I had to say that I have been waiting over 20 years to see the original KISS live and in person and they did not disappoint! Thank you KISS! I took my 12-year old niece, couldn't let her go through life having missed the original band, in makeup, in the greatest show of all! We drove to Tampa (about 2 hours away), got to the arena about 8:30 and missed Skid Row and most of Nugent, but weren't too upset over that. KISS came on about 9:15 and it is so true, when you see KISS you are not just seeing a bunch of guys singing and playing - is it a SHOW - an event for all the senses! I was so impressed with Paul's singing - he has an incredible voice and until you hear him live you just don't realize. We had nosebleed seats (but the Ice Palace is so small and with the video screens and my binoculars we could still see everything) and the sound was fantastic, a little glitch here and there, but the performance never suffered. Peter was always my fave member, crush on him since the 70's, and when he sang "Beth" I thought I'd lose it. The flying stunts were amazing, and even though Gene did get over-shot from the platform a little, from where we were sitting it looked like a nice recovery. Ace's solo was fantastic! We loved all the pyro and the videos they showed were great - we really liked the "movies" of KISS as video game characters. Anyway, the show was great and I am so happy that I got to see them live (finally!) and got to bring my niece - she woke up singing "I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day!" so she's been properly indoctrinated!
