KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Alain Bellicha
The concert at the Tokyo Dome just finished... It was AWESOME. I am listening to my private recording of the show... man, it sounds great :-)

I arrived a 4.00, and we could hear the soundcheck from outside (Detroit, Talk to me, Love Gun, Psycho circus). It was a beautiful, sunny but cold afternoon in Tokyo. The lines in front of the merchandise counters were incredible, so were the prices, but, hey...it's Kiss! Of, course I bought the "I was there TOKYO - March 13, 2001". I also was interviewed by a film crew, they said they were shooting a DVD Kiss Japan Farewell Tour, to be released in a couple of months !!!!

The doors opened at 5.30, and the show started a little after 7.00, with no opening act, in a clean, smoke-drug-alcohol-free environment, with Detroit Rock City. "Tokyoooo, Komban waaa"

The stadium was sold-out (nearly, about 98%), and the crowd was wild. The set-list was the same as in Yokohama, but sounded much, much better, and the pyrotechnics were also used a lot more than in Yokohama.

Eric Singer's solo was longer than the other nights. When Gene was landing from his top platform down to the stage, Ace was standing just where Gene's supposed to go down, they nearly hit each other, and avoided an tragic accident. So, Eric gave extra time to Paul, Gene and Ace to talk backstage and make sure it wouldn't happen again.

At the encores, Paul got from fans 3 huge bunches of roses he placed at the bottom of his mike.

It was a great final show in Tokyo... SAYONARA
