KISS Tour 2000 Reviews

From: Sean Yerzy
It was a cold night in Vancouver the Eve of New Years Eve (we're from San Francisco) it was I’m guessing about 8:30 our first night there, me and my friend decide to stroll down to the B.C. Place and have a look. Suddenly I hear a mountainous Bass thump, me and my friend look at each other, we hear a guitar and suddenly we hear "PSYCHO CIRCUS" we flip out and start running top speed to the stadium we get to the place and KISS is doing their sound check un@#$%ing believable, they had no makeup on and were in street clothes the stage looked massive from the outside. Me and my friend started running around checking all the doors, we had no luck but we could see through the doors, they ran through "Psycho Circus" "Shout it Loud" "Heavens on Fire" I think twice, "Lick it up" a few others including part of "Heartbreaker" by Led Zep. Paul looked strange with his short hairdo, let’s hope it grows back fast. What an awesome prelim. to a great weekend. We waited around with only a handful of other fans that happened to stumble upon it, there were two guys from Brazil, a girl from the U.K., Australian KISS army couple and a guy from Montana. We waited in the cold to meet the guys for over an hour and they took the side exit in three white vans, we were bummed.

The night of the show we waited for the lame opening bands to play and went in, the place was very festive, the merchandise booths were packed with people, I was trying to get a shirt and a poster and the ones I wanted sold out before KISS hit the stage I was pissed, the stage looked so cool, there were KISS neon laser lights all over the ceiling, the giant blow ups of KISS were on the sides of the stage, above the top of the lighting rig hung two huge KISS ARMY flags, the stage was pretty much the same as the Psycho Circus tour. KISS pretty much put on a hell of a show, tons of pyro, tight playing, Ace was on it, his version of Lick It Up was awesome, he made it sound like a KISS song, the other non makeups were pretty good, although I don’t think i like the fact that their playin these songs, they have great catalog, why not play "Flamin Youth" that song kicks ass, I mean "I love it loud" I’m tired of that song we've all heard that too many times, not when they can play "I Stole Your Love" "Ladies in Waiting" "Parasite" "Let Me Know" or "All American Man" con guys lets kick some ass? But it still rocked, there was a screw up during 100,000 years, Black Diamond they redid the first part twice because the harmonies were off, well see how much of that concert will make it to tape, definitely 2000 man, Lick It Up Love Gun (Paul kicked ass during that song he may not like the flying but he definitely loves being in the middle of all the fans), & Detroit Rock City. The B.C. Place was so huge the fireworks kicked my ass, they shot straight up and still didn’t touch the top of the arena. There was allot of fire during God of Thunder and tons pyro at the end of the show the coolest thing was how the show ended just one big bomb shook the entire place, no fireworks display just a big friggin bomb I hope that shows up on the CD. I ended up buying the ALIVE 4 shirt with the concert shot on it off some kid for 70 Canadian, I had to have this shirt it was so awesome, and the a very nice lady Carol gave me a poster, I also ran into this guy "super Pete 90210" that was his name no kidding and he sold me sooo many KISS promo posters from the show I almost had a heart attack. For the record as far as he and I know there are five posters total, one is in color smaller size w/ the destroyer graphic (500), the Y2KISS poster (only 500 made), giant KISS logo poster (only 200), Vancouver rock city poster and the KISS 2000 poster man did I luck out, I took pictures but they turned out crappy. Thanks to KISS for the lifetime of memories.
