KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Tommy Rifai
This is the first show of 5 I will have seen on this tour and I hope they all have this energy! From the DRC opening, to Deuce, to the 80's songs - which ROCKED FAR better than on VH-1 as far as HOFire is concerned! - these guys just looked like they were having a BLAST. The energy came out in the performances as well. All the effects worked without a hitch, and having in be in a packed outdoor amphitheatre (Mars Music Amphitheatre) was a totally new experience for me seeing Kiss (I've seen approximately 25+ Kiss shows so far, both w/ and w/o makeup). Paul's rap seemed more real and motivated maybe by the powerful act and rap Nugent was putting on' just before them. The sound was really crystal clear and the camera work was great. They may not have had 3-D, but stuck between the actual live feed was clips of the new Kiss Immortals stuff (in 2000 Man esp. I believe) and the clips of old classic Kiss (I believe during Do You Love Me?). It was nice hearing Gene give so much vocal effort. Adds alot to the show. If anyone sounded a bit weak, Peter did on Black Diamond. But as I'll mention in my Ft. Myers review (next night) - he made up for it in spades. BTW, the cats on Peter's riser are now blowing dry ice out of their mouths and just look much better in general. Peter is drumming with more energy all in all too. God, its time I know, but I'm gonna miss these guys!!
