Message From Bruce Kulick
From: KULICK.net
Hello everyone. Well, I am off to Australia, and that is quite an exciting adventure for Bruce. First time solo ever!! Should be fun. Looking forward to the fans and the shows! I will have a full report when I return. NAMM show was fun down in Anaheim, signed autographs at the ESP booth with George Lynch (Dokken) and Micheal Wilton (Queensryche). Of course ran into many of my friends in the business and jammed onstage with Laidlaw, a great band with the guy who did my Flash video. It was at the Galaxy Theatre (where UNION did its live disc). I played two songs with the guys and thanks to the guys and Paul Reed Smith for the invite. Had a great time. Also went to a big 40th anniversary party for Jim Marshall of Marshall Amps. Nice party for him, with guitarist Eric Johnson, as the performer. So while I am gone to promote Audio Dog, I want you all to look at my other dog named Booty. He is an Alaskan Malamute, and I co-own him with my friend Bernadette Quierco. She has a kennel and breeds these dogs. She will have some of her beautiful creatures in some upcoming movies and Hollywood has taken to her flock of animals. Booty has won many awards, and of course he makes me proud. [More... EddieTrunk.com Reports On The KISS Lane Bryant Event
From: EddieTrunk.com
Here's the latest on the KISS Lane Bryant Event. Kiss will play in NYC for this plus size womens clothing company. The performance will be during a fashion event, while models show off the new Lane Bryant line. The event is PRIVATE and will NOT be open to the public! Kiss will perform live, not lip synched. What't the lineup you ask? It is Gene and Paul, however it's unknown who the drummer is. It is suspected to once again be Eric Singer in Peter's makeup. I have also confirmed that Ace will not be a part of this. Will we finally see the rumoured Tommy Thayer playing Ace scenario? Stay tuned, but who else could it be?? I suspect that since this is not really a rock event, and is just for the fashion press, nobody will know the difference or care. But Kiss fans being Kiss fans will. I can also tell you that the event, which is Feb 5th, will be streamed on Lane Bryant's website the next day. More details soon. I will also have an exclusive review of this event, since I will be attending it. As always, keep checking back for more from your Kiss source: EddieTrunk.com! [Post Your Comments]

DARK LIGHT: A World Without Heroes II
From: KISS ASYLUM
Continuation of a short KISS story by Dale Sherman: Unknown to the people of Earth, the only hope for the planet remains with the war-weary Guardians of the Talismans: Kathy, Susie, Ace, and Caravello. They have discovered that in the past history was altered so that Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss were never Guardians. Because history was altered, Blackwell remained undefeated in his plans and succeeded in destroying the Elders with the help of the Ancient Ones. After locating the three the Guardians were scattered to different locations. Kathy and Paul fled into Limbo after Kathy was stripped of her Talisman powers, while Susie and Gene search in 1995 to find one of Blackwell's human servants. Meanwhile, Ace, Caravello and Peter arrive in 1974 to discover where history was altered and why Gene, Paul and Peter were never part of the Guardianship. KISS Frontman Gene Simmons Hits The New York Times Bestseller List
From: TheStar.com via Dave Walsh
Gene Simmons refuses to unfurl his legendary serpentine tongue. "The floor is dirty," he demurs. Yes, size is important, allows Simmons, in town to tubthump his autobio KISS And Make-up (Crown Publishers). "It's about the size, the spin and dry cycle and a good froth." But there is no truth to the rumour that Simmons, front man of the glam rock group KISS, had a cow's tongue grafted to his own: "It's probably the same person who thought I was the devil." The tongue, coupled with his Kabuki makeup, tight leathers, codpieces, pyrotechnics and fire-breathing and blood-spitting side show, were key in his relentless quest to "chase skirt." The makeup came off in 1983, with the advent of MTV and "hair-metal bands." At 52, Simmons resembles early Johnny Cash. He was born Chaim Witz in Israel and raised in Queens, New York. Little Chaim loved comic books and TV shows based on costumes, like Superman, which would explain his makeup. [More...] [Post Your Comments]

Report: Gene Book Signing In Toronto
From: Billy
I just back from the Gene Simmons bock signing in Toronto. Gene was in a good mood laughing and greeting fans. When it was my turn Gene extend his hand and thanked me for coming out. And as always it was announced that Gene will stay until everyone in line gets an autograph. I asked him about more dates on the farewell tour. His response was " I would love to but with Aces and Peters sobriety it was highly unlikely". As for the final show I was told no plans or location are in place as of yet, and Gene has no Idea when the plans will be finalized. [Post Your Comments]

Kiss, But No Tell
From: Canoe.ca via Warren Osmond
It seems KISS bassist Gene Simmons has never met a woman he didn't want to get in the sack. "I don't give a s--- if you can crack a joke or not," said the libidinous rock star, in town yesterday to promote his new autobiography, KISS And Make-Up. "You can be dull, boring and just leaning against the corner, you're a target. I believe sexuality comes in all sizes and all shapes." In his case, 4,600 of them. That's the number of females -- and counting -- that Simmons estimates he's bedded since the mid-'70s rise of glam-metal kingpins KISS, who remain on the longest farewell tour ever. And how does he arrive at this number exactly? "I counted my photographs," said Simmons, 52, who appears at Chapters on John St., at 6:30 tonight to sign copies of his book. "In 1974 or so, I started taking Polaroids of the girls." [More...] [Post Your Comments]

AMA Music Awards, Peter on OZ Video Clips
From: KISSfreaks.com
American Music Awards 2002. Gene and Paul present the award for Pop Rock Artist. Lenny Kravitz won the award and stated he was very thankful to KISS for being an influence. Peter Criss guest stars on OZ the mini-series from HBO January 2002. Peter plays a convict that injured several people during a softball game after a play at the plate. He then is bribbed by one of the main characters in the show to lie about witnessing a murder behind bars. We supposedly will be seeing more of Peter this season on OZ. Congrats to Peter. From: Adam Weaver
I just caught Gene and Paul on the AMA's presenting an award to Lenny Kravitz. I waited all night long to catch them and it was worth it. They came out in full stage gear and make up. They looked great! Gene and Paul said a few words and the nominees were listed with the award going to Lenny. Lenny came up and bowed as he approached them and went on to say that without a few KISS records to listen to while he was growing up, he wouldn't be up there with them. It was great! Message From Bruce Kulick
From: KULICK.net
Happy 2002 everyone! I hope you had a great New Years with friends and family. I got some much needed rest, and it has been a very busy year. When looking back, I cant believe how many places I traveled to, how many different type shows I did both with Grand Funk and UNION and of course some expo appearances around the world. I was in Norway, Argentina, Puerto Rico and much of the US, and Montreal (came home on the 10th of Sept fortunately!). I did about 45 shows with Grand Funk Railroad, and once again I must say, the band is not only great to play in, they are all first rate people to hang with. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with them. Also late in 2001 I wrote a song with Max Carl the singer, that is so amazing, it might be the best thing I ever co-wrote. It is called "Who Took Down the Stars," and we have plans to record this year and that song will be very important. From Festivals, to Motorcycle events to the Palace in Detroit, it was a fun year with Don, Mel, Max and Tim. [More...] [Post Your Comments]

Gene Simmons Update
From: GeneSimmons.com
Here's what I have been up to for the last several days...While I was in New York, ERIN BROCHOVITCH invited me to participate in her New York crusade to recreate the New York City waterfront ampitheater/park. We spoke a few times, but we were both busy and never got a chance to take it further. Maybe next time. I met with Jim Botco from IN DEMAND Pay Per View. We agreed to take a look at a few projects I'm involved in for a series of GENE SIMMONS PRESENTS Pay Per View Specials. More news on this later. That night, I went to see the beautiful Sophie perform at a private piano recital. She was grand. I, on the other hand, managed to scrape the side of my truck nicely. I do many things reasonably well...driving's not one of them. [More...] [Post Your Comments]

Peter Criss: The Wizard Of Oz
From: KNAC.com
Founding Kiss drummer Peter Criss starts a short stay in prison this weekend, a trip he chose to make. Criss is flexing his acting muscles by playing prisoner Martin Montgomery in the HBO prison drama Oz, which kicks off its fifth season on Sunday (January 6th) at 10pm ET. He's scheduled to be in two more episodes this season, but an HBO spokesperson was unable to confirm whether or not there would be any more Criss appearances on the series after that. It's not the first time Criss has gone before the cameras: He had a walk-through in an episode of the canceled series Millennium, and he played himself in 1999's Detroit Rock Citand 1978's KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park. Of course, he'll have less makeup on this time. [Post Your Comments]

Interview With Jason Ebs, Final Vocalist In CRISS
From: KISSfaq.com
Jason Ebs was the final vocalist in Peter Criss' solo band CRISS who spilt up following Peter rejoining KISS for the highly successful Reunion Tour. During his time with the CRISS Jason toured on the double-bill Bad Boys of KISS tours which saw CRISS and the ACE FREHLEY BAND team up throughout North America. Following Peter leaving the band, the remainder of the band would stay together for a while to work as SKOFF prior to moving off, individually, in new directions. The KISS FAQ would like to thank Jason for graciously taking the time to answer my rather long Q&A, and approaching it both with humor and detail! From: Foxnews.com via Rich Toland
Thought everyone might like to see this; parcial transcript from Gene's appearance on the O'Reilly Factor TV show can be found at Foxnews.com.Here's a quick excerpt...
BILL O'REILLY, HOST: In the Back of the Book segment tonight, the rock group Kiss is known for its stage antics, not for its politics. But the leader of the group, Gene Simmons, was born in Israel, left when he was 9 years old, and has some very strong feelings on how to deal with terrorists.  Mr. Simmons is the author of the book Kiss and Make Up. There it is. And he joins us now. You know, that might be enough to frighten Usama bin Laden, that book. [More...] [Post Your Comments]

KISS Guitarist Picks Melbourne Band For Backing Group
From: Undercover.com.au via Paul Chashmere
Former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick has chosen Melbourne's Stand to be his backing band for his upcoming Australian tour. The Stand / Kulick relationship goes back to 1998 when they opened for ESP, the band made up of ex-Kiss and Motley Crue members. Stand are honoured to be chosen to back Kulick. "Many of the songs we are going to play with Bruce are the songs that we learnt to play our instruments to and the Kiss fans will be blown away with the songs that have been picked," drummer Stephen Crafter said. They have re-vamped their line up specifically for the shows and in doing so have created a pedigree of their own. Vince Contarino, vocalist for the most successful concept band ever in Australia, the Zep Boys will be fronting Stand and handling the vocals along with Bruce. Matthew McAuliffe from the most popular Kiss cover band, Dinissty will be playing bass along with Stephen Crafter (also of the Zep Boys) and Paul Drennan who founded Stand. Stand will perform a 40 minute set of their own music to open the show and after a brief break will re-emerge with Bruce Kulick to play a selection of songs from Bruce's solo album and Kiss songs from Bruce's years with the band. He also talks about the band he likes the Toilet Boys and about his home life. It is a very interesteing interview. Gene On CNBC's Power Lunch
From: Dave Johnson
I saw Gene Simmons today Friday (12/21) on CNBC on a show called "Power Lunch". It was interesting, Gene talked about the merchandising of KISS, he also touched base about his book. they also had a couple people from the newsroom put on makeup, one as Paul Stanley and one as Eric Carr. They also had a guy named Carlos from a KISS fan organization, didn't catch the name of it, he was dressed up as Gene Simmons, the segment was about 5-6 minutes long, they ran some footage of the farewell tour. It looked like Gene was interviewed from his home in California. [Post Your Comments]
