ERIC SINGER Q&A
From: KISSHell
KISS HELL: What are your impressions of the current KISS tour from Australia to Japan to the USA?
ERIC SINGER: Japan/Australia was really good! The band is starting to get it's legs now & should be steaming by the US dates!!

KH: The coolest review I've seen was the Sydney club show. How was it to do a club show with KISS again?
ES: The 2 smaller shows we did in Australia were great! Alot of fun to say the least. We did so many older/rare songs. It was all about the music for these shows. No smoke & mirrors this time. We rehearsed at sound checks at the previous few shows to get this material down.

KH: Do you listen to the 'Instant Live' CD's after shows? What do you think of having live CD's out after every show?
ES: We sometimes do listen to the CD's. We need to check the balance/levels etc... But, we also want to see how we sound too. We really want the band to play well every night!!! KISS fans deserve the best we can give them!! These make for a great fan item/souvenir as well...

KH: How was the set list chosen for this tour? How was it decided to add in some different songs?
ES: When we started rehearsals we all gave input for set lists. We still keep changing it up all the time. This band can play anything from the KISS catalogue.

KH: Your drum style this tour seems more basic. Was this a conscious thing (to have less double bass stuff)?
ES: Actually I have been playing more "basic" as you call it for the past 5/6 years now. Even with Alice or Montrose too. I realize that it is more important to be solid and play for the "songs" first. (I still get a lick or two in there...)

KH: What are your thoughts on a possible new studio album with the current KISS line-up?
ES: I would love for this line-up to record at some point. "If" that happens remains to be seen...

KH: Is anything being filmed on this tour for any possible DVD releases?
ES: We film everything. Every show, and alot of behind the scenes footage as well. Whether it makes it onto DVD for fan consumption remains to be seen.

KH: Any chance of you singing "Strange Ways" or "Black Diamond" on this tour?
ES: We did rehearse those songs at the beginning of the tour. So, you never know when they may pop in to a show .

KH: What music are you listening to lately?
ES: I listen to whatever we have in the dressing room before the show. Mostly classic stuff we all grew up with: MONTROSE /Prince/Zeppelin/Sabbath/Humble Pie/ Grand Funk / etc...

KH: Do you have any other musical projects going on for the near future?
ES: I only have KISS in my immediate future for now... One day at atime (not to be cliche).
