Union Live In LA
From: KISSAsylum.com
by Ken Gullic/ KISSAsylum West Coast Office
Well... it's kind of fitting, it's my last nite in temporary housing...and I got to see UNION w/ERIC SINGER on drums! Nice big crowd on hand... biggest I've seen for Union. In the audience was Bob Kulick and another JAMIE as in BLACK N BLUE vocalist JAMIE ST. JAMES.

I have to say that this was one of the more spirited shows I've seen from this band, and again, I give it to ERIC SINGER who played and bopped his head like he playing with KISS or something. Eric was giving his all and that gave the band more energy!

The SET list... in order (w: song/artist/album noted for those that don't own 'em all...)

DO YOUR OWN THING/Union/The Blue Room
EVERYTHING'S ALRIGHT/Union/The Blue Room
LOVE (I Don't Need It Anymore)/Union/Union
JUNGLE/KISS/Carnival Of Souls (very cool seeing Eric and Bruce play this together!! 2/3 of the band that recorded it! BK smoked!)
OLD MAN WISE/Union/Union
AROUND AGAIN/Union/Union
JUMP THE SHARK/BRUCE KULICK/Transformer (w/Corabi on guitar too)
OH! DARLING/The Bee Gees/Sgt. Pepper soundtrack (kidding... this was a very cool homage to McCartney's PRE-WINGS band... and maybe Bruce's best playing of the nite... very inspired! Where's my "Instant Live" of this show?!?!)
HYPNOTIZED/Union/The Blue Room
SURRENDER/T.Rick
I WALK ALONE/KISS/Carnival Of Souls (again, cool to see 1/2 of KISS playing this)
POWER TO THE MUSIC/Motley Crue
- - - - --ENCORES--- -
BLACK DIAMOND/KISS/Eric on vox and they brought back the Creatures/Animalize tour musical outro.... the cadence thing, made me all nostalgic for the 82-84 ERA)
IMMIGRANT SONG/Coverdale-Page...ok, not Coverdale-Page, but Eric cranked up the kick drum on this one...much more than usual. Like he wanted to make sure somebody up there heard him!
Of note: Somebody held up an Animalize t-shirt (w/BK's head on MSJ's body) during SURRENDER!
Eric's hair was dark, but not jet black... CORABI had long hair, and a fairly cool looking beard... very late BEATLEY.
BK had a ski cap on when I first walked into the club... very Michael Nesmith... like, cool but with a sense of humor.
