Collette Shaw's First Novel From: Overlooked Books "It's Always the Quiet Ones Who Hide the Biggest Secrets…" When college dean Colette Shaw's first novel, Won't Get Fooled Again, hits the streets June 1, 2005, KISS fans may have a tool for explaining their love of the band to the rest of the world. The book follows the upheaval of a business executive's personal and professional lives when her secret rock & roll life comes to light. Shaw was selling advance copies of her book at the NY/NJ KISS Expo on May 14, 2005. From her mild-mannered position as "Dean Shaw" to her new role as a rock & roll novelist, Shaw's life loosely parallels that of her protagonist, Suzanne Curtis. "Almost everyone has a secret longing that doesn't make sense to the world," says Shaw, who balances her career in academia with her KISS fan night life. "The fear associated with voicing our deepest dreams is universal. As an educator and a believer in the healthy rebelliousness of rock & roll, I loved writing a book that might help others who harbor dueling passions to take a risk and explore their interests more openly."
