Gene's Boot Goes Up On Myrtle Beach
From: Ry / Aztec Design & FX

I suppose it might look odd if we were any place else. But, this is Myrtle beach and the site of the new KISS Coffee Shop where workers are putting the finishing touches on what's becoming a simply awe-inspiring building.

The giant Gene, demon boot arrived this morning and the construction team began the herculean task of unloading and securing this 1400 pound beast.

At days end the crew even had a chance to test the smoking nostrils and there are plans to light the boots eyes later in the week. (Click MORE for additional photos & story)

With just over 48 hours to go before the store opens on Friday (Grand opening is on the 27th) things are taking shape quickly and they're certainly busy on the inside, too. I was on hand while the sound system was being tested and I've got to say the extras are amazing.

Picture this. You're having your (insert favorite new KISS beverage here) and your watching a little KISS video on either of the twin plasmas when all of the sudden confetti cannons, fog machines and sirens go off! This is more than just a Coffee House...this is an experience that captures the excitement of what we all know and love that is KISS!

Equally appealing is the staff and Mgt of the KISS Coffee shop. Having been around the last couple weeks of construction I've had the chance to see these people in action. Despite being under the gun to hit the opening dead-line they have been nothing but gracious to the hundreds of fans who stop and ask questions while work is being performed. It's refreshing to see a company say they're run by fans for the fans....and mean it.

That's it for now. The Paul boot is on the way! More soon...
