From: Kim Bowers On Friday, July 21 at San Diego's world-renowned Comic Con, former catalog consultant Robert V. Conte announced his upcoming book detailing his days working with the rock band KISS. Conte, who assisted in repackaging more than 20 of KISS' remastered CDs, details what it was like to collaborate with childhood idols GENE SIMMONS, ACE FREHLEY, PETER CRISS, and PAUL STANLEY. "I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with the group that, as a teenager, regularly inspired me to become successful" says Conte. "To this day, seeing my name inside most of the albums I dearly treasured throughout high school feels wonderfully surreal." The book, whose title will be announced in the coming months, will include never-before-released information about some of KISS' top- selling albums during the remastering of classics including Hotter than Hell and Destroyer. "I am one of the very few people who has heard the original, multi- track recordings for KISS Alive!, (Music From) The Elder and others. Hearing such sonic delights (and disasters!) are what many KISS fans have dreamed about for decades. It's almost ten years since the KISS Remasters were completed and I still receive e-mails asking about how they were done. Hopefully, this book will answer most of those questions." In addition to this Kiss-related publication, Conte has also authored a memoir dedicated to his eight-year-old son. This book, whose story includes a GENE SIMMONS-impersonator as one of its characters, is slated for a 2007 release. |
