From: KISS Asylum For any diehard KISS fan that was in NYC on Halloween, it was truly rewarding and exhausting. I wanted to share the experience: I arrived actually later than I wished (about 8am as I was at Paul's show in Philly the night before) to get the Bracelet for the KISS DVD Promotion at Virgin Megastore in Times Square where about 500 bracelets were up for grabs for the IN STORE appearance of Gene and Paul in makeup at 11pm! At about 2pm, I got to the entrance where GENE and Paul entered the MTV TRL event and I was very fortunate to be right next to the 2 Vans when they arrived and got nice shots of Paul and Gene entering MTV. I was also very lucky to get an MTV bracelet which allowed me to be in the KISS ARMY Pit outside where they arrived after being on MTV TRL, said hello to the fans, and got on the KISS float for some pictures. We took a shot and headed down to the Massive NYC Halloween Parade where it was to end at 21st Street at 6th ave. KISS were the Grand Marshals. As we waited, we decided to get back to Virgin Megastore around 9pm for the 11pm arrival of Paul and Gene. As always, we hook up with many of the same Diehard fans in line who were all exhausted and excited for what was about to come at about 11pm. Sharing our KISS stories of today and the past is always great! As the line moved up, we were lucky to get inside where Gene and Paul made a typical huge entrance down the escalator in the store a little before 11pm in full makeup. The new DVD was playing on the flatsreens on the walls. What was great was the 1st batch of fans in line got a chance to be very close in the store where Paul and Gene were so it was fun to yell to them and they always tried to respond and pose for our cameras!! So pictures were very easy to get for anyone who attended. As we got closer, we got a chance to get 2 things signed and chat a little and thanking PAUL and GENE for always doing there best for the fans. As KISS fans know, we are very fortunate for the times like this! So to PAUL and GENE and the KISS Family, after an incredible 16 hour plus KISS day in NYC: I THANK YOU FOR THAT DAY AND THE 30 PLUS YEARS OF GIVING US EVERYTHING YOU CAN! GOD BLESS, Steve Cavico, Brick NJ. |
