Life Lessons And GENE SIMMONS - Who'd Have Thought?
From: KISSOnline

The following was printed in the Letters section of a local Pennsylvania news paper:

Life lessons and GENE SIMMONS - who'd have thought?

On Oct. 12, GENE SIMMONS from the band KISS was promoting the new KISS cologne at Oxford Valley Mall. My 16-year-old son is a huge fan and was very excited at the chance to see him close up.

When my son got to the mall he realized the only way to get to meet him was to buy a $40 bottle of the cologne, and on his small salary couldn't afford it. He stood on the sidelines overcome with emotion at the site of his idol. A stranger asked him if he could purchase the cologne for him. Corey was thrilled, but said no, he could not accept such a generous gift but thanked the man.

Five minutes later he returned with the cologne, handed it to my son and told him to get in line. My son was thrilled and impressed by the generosity and kindness of this stranger.

Two hours later, I went to pick up my son at the mall and he was still in line. We waited for two more hours and as his time to go up on stage came closer he was again overwhelmed and emotional. When GENE SIMMONS saw my tall, 16-year-old overcome with emotion, he was impressed, and acted accordingly. Gene took his time, hugged us both and thanked Cory (I was impressed by that). My son could not believe how nice he was.

Gene stated women love sensitive men and said my son would be very successful. Can you imagine being 16 and hearing that from your icon? Gene also shared his soda with Corey and took his time with him. When we left the stage, Corey was in the clouds.

As we walked off, the KISS photographer handed me a business card and said he had taken many photos of Corey and Gene (and myself) and stated if I give him my e-mail address he would send them to me. Yet another kindness from a stranger.

Who knew a night of four hours in a mall line to see GENE SIMMONS would turn out to be a learning experience in multiple kindness' of strangers. I would love to find out who the generous stranger was, to thank him for being so nice, teaching my son this very valid lesson and restoring our faith in humanity.
