From: The Commercial Appeal KISS lead guitarist TOMMY THAYER and PGA tour pro/avid KISS fan Shaun Micheel performed for the second year in a row at the pairings party for the 2007 Shaun Micheel Make-A-Wish Golf Classic. With them on stage at the Rendezvous were fellow guitarists Gerry Finney and Doug Petty. The party was the night before last Monday's tournament at Ridgeway Country Club. During the recent Stanford St. Jude Championship, Shaun and Tommy teamed to perform with Dr. Zarr's Amazing Funk Monster at the Eagles Nest, a 12,000-square-foot concession area. Shaun donned a big afro wig for the occasion. Another KISS fan, Damon Waxler, was high bidder -- at $7,000 -- on the KISS live auction item: four front-row seats and backstage passes to the band's concert in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich. Damon remembered dressing up as a KISS member in the sixth or seventh grade at Grace St. Luke's. He said he wore "aluminum foil stuff and makeup." Ron Olson and Steve Conley were masters of ceremony at the pairings party. John Roebuck was live auctioneer. Richard Robinson is chairman of the classic's steering committee. |
