Hallmark Cards And KISSes Go Together From: Kansas City Star Hallmark cards and kisses go together. But Hallmark and KISS? The world’s largest greeting card company, with headquarters right here in Kansas City, wants you to hear its latest Hallmark cards with sound. They feature snatches of original recordings from such artists as KISS, Barenaked Ladies, Kool & the Gang, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Tim McGraw and Johnny Cash. You can check it out at Hallmark’s free "Use Music Summer Tour," which will make a user-friendly stop in its hometown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Crown Center Square, 2450 Grand. Besides lending an ear to greeting cards — my favorite is the birthday card that plays John Williams’ stirring orchestral theme from the "Superman" movies — other interactive activities will include photo shoots for a mock Entertainment Weekly cover; rocking out on the popular "Guitar Hero" video game; and the chance to demonstrate your vocal wizardry (or lack thereof) in Hallmark’s "Summer Sing-Off Challenge." But Hallmark and Kiss? I’m still trying to wrap my lips around that. |
