Low Resolution Image - Not enlargeable KISS Toothtunes Giveaway Winners
From: KISSasylum.com
Posted: October 3, 2007

KISSasylum.com received 663 entries for this trivia giveaway contest. Only 7% of the entrants sent in a correct answer. Another 21% unfortunately did not follow the list of 3 instructions: 1) Answer, 2) Address, 3) One entry only.

The 5 randomly selected winners are:
EDDIE KELLAR of Cortland OH
JOHN BABINSACK of Natrona PA
GABRIEL MASSEY of Yuma AZ
NILS PERSSON of Gothenburg Sweden
TIMOTHY PARROTT of Sevierville TN

The question was:
NAME ALL THE OFFICIAL GUITARISTS THAT HAVE PLAYED IN KISS. ("Official" meaning an actual member that has played with the band live in concert or appeared on an album as an official member).

And the answer is:
PAUL STANLEY
ACE FREHLEY
VINNIE VINCENT
MARK ST JOHN
BRUCE KULICK
TOMMY THAYER

The list is simple, straightforward and correct. Instead of simply giving the correct answer many, (so many), chose to write small essays on how the list could be construed to add or disqualify members for elaborate technical reasons. The simple fact is, all 6 guitarists played with KISS live as well as on a KISS album as an official member.

Please note for clarification:

The band KISS includes:

2 Guitarists, 1 Bassist, 1 Drummer.

The bass player is the bassist, not a guitarist.

PAUL STANLEY is a guitarist.

PAUL STANLEY is sometimes noted as the Rhythm Guitarist. To say the rhythm guitarist isn't a guitarist because he plays rhythm is equally wrong as saying the lead guitarist isn't a guitarist because he plays lead. A guitarist is a guitarist.

MARK ST JOHN played several partial Animalize shows in 1985.

TOMMY THAYER appeared on the KISS Alive IV Symphony album. His name appears in the CD and LP notes as a member of the band. He is the current guitarist for the band.

VINNIE VINCENT falling into negative terms with his former band-mates does not change history. He played on multiple tours and albums, wrote KISS songs and even wore the makeup. He was an official member.

Some KISS members have played different instruments on albums and occasionally on stage, (for fun). Each member still only officially plays one instrument in the band.

Guest musicians and writers on KISS albums are not official members.

Thanks to the winners and everyone else who entered!
