Vancouver Promoter Sued By KISS From: The Vancouver Sun Posted: December 7, 2007 KISS' management company suing for almost $1 million over cancelled Whistler concert The management company handling the glam rock band KISS is suing a Vancouver concert promoter for almost $1 million for cancelling a concert scheduled for Whistler last Sept. 15. In a statement of claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court, McGhee Entertainment of Los Angeles claims the promoter, Big Mountain Concert Co. Inc, and its president Dennis MacDonald, agreed to pay $900,000 US for the band to perform a 90-minute concert in Whistler. The plaintiff claims it was ready, willing and able to discharge its obligations but the concert was cancelled Sept. 3 by BMCC and/or MacDonald in breach of the contract, which was partly oral and partly in writing The management company is seeking damages of $900,000 US, plus interest and court costs |
