ACE FREHLEY New Years Bash 2008 Report Crocodile Rock Allentown

What Can I Say? Seeing an icon like ACE FREHLEY on New Years Eve - What a way to start the year!

Its Not The First Time We Spent New Years Eve Together: I was a lucky fan and got to go to the Meadowlands, NJ back in 96-97 on the Alive Worldwide tour. Both nights were Nights To Remember.

I purchased V.I.P Seating believing there might be a chance to meet my hero but that was not to happen. V.I.P was a comfortable seating area upstairs to sit and watch Ace in comfort with an All You Can Eat buffet and a large screen to watch Ace on. And I must say for my wife and I (we are small people) it was very enjoyable. Thank You Crocodile Rock!

Doors opened at 8.00 PM with the V.I.P. being seated first. The first band (who's name I can't remember but they were from Western New York) entertained the crowd until about 9:00. There were chants of "Ace" heard throughout Crocodile Rock.

About 9.35 PM A band from North Carolina took the stage named " Jam Pain Society." I thought they were very entertaining and enjoyed them a lot! Good Job Guys!

After a 40+ Minute Show and a less then a hour of waiting, Ace took the state at 11:03.

He was introduced by Eddie Trunk, and Ace came out rocking! Opening song, Rip It Out, the rest of the set list includes: Hard Times
Parasite
Snowblind
a portion of "I Want You"
Rock Soliders
Shot Full Of Rock
Into The Void
Breakout (dedicated to the great ERIC CARR)
New Year's 2008 welcome and a short 2 minute break while confetti was thrown, kisses going on and New Years Eve noise makers blowing. Then Ace Started jamming again with:
Stranger In A Strange Land
Strange Ways
New York Groove with the lighted guitar.
Shock Me
Guitar Solo with the smoking guitar (portions from the first two Alive albums and Jingle Bells. Ace you were Awesome!
Rocket Ride

---ENCORES--

Deuce
Love Her All I Can
Love Gun
Black Diamond Outro
The show was over around 12:50 AM

Thank You Ace for a wonderful New Year's Eve, and for making my wife's December 31 birthday very memorable, Happy Birthday Rebecca!
