Gene Comments On 1975 Vancouver Show From: KISSonline.com Posted: February 19, 2009 Gene's comments after seeing the Commodore KISS shots The day after that show (in Vancouver, BC) I was interviewed by Bob Geldorf, who would later go on to form his own band, The Boomtown Rats. He also started the Live Aid rock charity. At that time, he was a writer for the Georgia Straight, a local paper. I remember he started the interview with something like "you guys weren't serious up there, were you." I told him we would become the biggest band in the world and that he didn't understand what rock and roll was. It was clear we had a different point of view. Years later, when I finally got to see his band, the Boomtown Rats, I remember thinking: "..he can't be serious up there..." They soon broke up. KISS? We're celebrating our 35th Anniversary! |
