Stephanie: GENE SIMMONS was great. I still talk to him to this day. We built a great relationship. I just knew that there was no way in heck I could go home and not have seen the tongue. So that in itself was an experience.

Jericho mentions "one of his favorite rock & roll stories" of the untimely story of VINNIE VINCENT, who replaced KISS' ACE FREHLEY, taking off the makeup when he had the worse KISS makeup of all time, which is the Egyptian "Ankh", which is a cross with a loop on the top. Jericho says when he was 12 years old and saw the album cover "Lick It Up", he thought Vinnie was Ace, because they both looked the same. Jericho says he's sure that Vinnie was mistaken for Ace many times when they saw the unmasked guitar player of KISS. Jericho says at that time, KISS wasn't that popular and fans probably didn't realize they've lost Ace. Jericho says fans must've thought that Ace was an Italian looking guy, referring to VINNIE VINCENT [aka Vincent Guzano]. Then as he left KISS, Vinnie formed the VINNIE VINCENT Invasion, but was kicked out of his own band and the remainder of the band reformed as Slaughter. Jericho says Mark Slaughter & Dana Strum kicked Vinnie out of his own band and they go to multi platinum success as Slaughter. Then PAUL STANLEY & GENE SIMMONS take Slaughter on tour with them on the Hot In The Shade tour.

Jericho played VINNIE VINCENT's "Ashes To Ashes" & Slaughter's "Burnin' Bridges".

Colette Shaw's secret life isn't a secret anymore.

The classically trained musician and director of residential programs at Franklin & Marshall College said she once hid her devotion to the pop-metal band KISS from her highbrow peers. Now, you could say she's an open book on the subject.

Shaw has published her first novel, "Won't Get Fooled Again," scheduled for local release June 1. It's the story of Suzanne Curtis, an executive who gets caught up in misadventures while trying to keep her professional life separate from her secret rock 'n' roll lifestyle.The tagline for the book is "It's always the quiet ones who hide the biggest secrets."

The middle school where I teach participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life on April 22 in Monroe, Louisiana. The theme was 20 years of Rock and Roll. Our school's theme for the evening was "Rock And Roll All Night And KISS Cancer Away." We sold wax lips at a "KISSing Booth" and took pictures with fans to help raise money for the ACS. Three lady teachers and I performed in a lip synch contest and played along to Rock and Roll All Night. Needless to say, we tore the house down. We were the hit of the evening, had a ton of fun, and raised money to help find a cure for cancer.

I had never dressed up as you before. Throughout the process of getting dressed, I could feel my alter-ego coming to life. It sure must be fun to be you." Regards,

He contacted me last November and then KISS was nice enough to put him in the KISS Magazine and include updates from him in Iraq on KISSonline. Thanks to Karen and Allen for promoting another great Cincinnati KISS Expo! As usual it was fun to see all of our friends and chat all things KISS. Everyone seemed to have a great time again this year.

The event featured BRUCE KULICK, SSG, Mr. Speed and Bill Starkey. SSG and Mr. Speed performed smoking sets and Bruce was in fine form joining SSG for a set that consisted of KISS, Grand Funk and his original songs. As always it was a pleasure to hang out with my friend and fellow Hoosier, Bill Starkey. Bill's table was next to mine and it was refreshing to watch the fans come over and speak with Bill about KISS in such a positive light. Wendy Moore, Gordon Gebert and Bob McAdams were on hand with their books and Collette Shaw was in attendance to promote her first novel "Won't Get Fooled Again".The Girls from Black Diamond also made an appearance, taking photos with many in the crowd.

I had the pleasure of meeting Leanne St. Germain and Cheri Madison who run the PAUL STANLEY fan site PaulStanleysParadise.com. They told me after we posted some info about their site last week on KISSAsylum, they were slammed with thousands of hits. Glad to see KISS fans helping support other KISS fans.

Thanks to all the fans for coming out and supporting these events. See you at the NY Expo.

Ubiquitous Kiss-man GENE SIMMONS will lend his mug to another outlet this year: television. And true to form, he'll do it bigger and grander than anyone has done it before. Fans have already seen Simmons's face in cartoon form in the Teletoon series My Dad the Rock Star, and now they'll be able to see it with a touch of reality.

VH1 has signed on for an American version of Simmons' new series, Rock School, which was originally filmed for British audiences. The idea is to turn the movie School of Rock into a six-episode reality series. For those who haven't seen the movie, this means Simmons will be taking on the role of teacher, informing preteens how to make it in the wide world of rock.

Not only instructing the instrumental side of things, Simmons also coaches the English boarding school students in the important art of applying monster makeup. Due to air this summer, the American version of Rock School will see the addition of extra footage of KISS from past MTV specials, and more music from the fearsome four.

Coming up this month is a trip for ESP. In this case I don't mean the guitar company, I mean ESP the band. ERIC SINGER, John Corabi, Chuck Garric on bass (Alice Cooper and Dio) and myself. We have booked 6 shows for Europe that begin April 27th, in Stockholm. We will be in Denmark, Holland, Germany and Spain. The night before the first show in Sweden, Eric and I will be at the Hard Rock Cafe, Stockholm for a meet and greet and some interviews. We will play songs from KISS, UNION, MOTLEY CRUE, and various covers of bands we love. So check out all the dates:

The following letter was given to us by our friend Ace Cosby of WFBQ radio Indy. If you can do anything to help out Craig's family during this difficult time, please visit the link below.

I was just writing to tell you about my best friend Craig Herbert, he was in the U.S. Army for 11 years and then left to become a police officer here in Indiana. Tragically he was killed in the line of duty on March 6, 2005. He left behind a wonderful wife and 2 beautiful little boys. Now a huge network of family and friends along with the community is putting together a benefit to raise money for Craig’s family. The benefit will include many things like live bands, dinner and a silent auction.

Craig was a huge KISS fan, we found it ironic that on the front page of the Indy Star the front page headlines were about Craig's accident but below that was an article on the Indy KISS expo. I think he would have liked that.

Just came home from watching the remake of "Amityville Horror" and the oldest son in the movie was a KISS fan. His denim jacket had some of the KISS member faces on the back of it. He also wore a blue T-Shirt that had the KISS logo on the front and a black T-shirt with the first album cover on the front.

There is also a scene where a teenage baby sitter is in the boy's bedroom as they look at 2 1973 era posters of KISS on his wall and the sitter talks about Gene's tounge. I thought it was cool of the movie producers to refer to KISS in the movie - way to go Michael Bay and company for including the "Hottest Band in the World"!!!!

As for the movie - I'll leave the gore and details to the eye of the beholder.

With much of the music completed, it's now time to start recording lead vocals for the album, which is set to be an all-star affair. Musically the line-up features Ronnie Montrose on guitar, Ricky on bass and ERIC SINGER on drums. Guest vocalists lined up to do a track each include Sammy Hagar, Eric Martin, Tommy Shaw, PAUL STANLEY, Gregg Rolie and more. The style of the album says Ricky "is old school 70's heavy rock n roll...no overdubs, no computers..."

We have been shooting a REALITY TELEVISION SHOW for our good friends at A&E tv. The show follows me around the world in my comings and going and includes my two midgets, Soph and Nick, as well as the ever beautiful and forever charming Shannon (to whom I have been happily unmarried for almost 22 years!!!).

A&E is the same place we did our GENE SIMMONS BIO 24/7 Special last year. I'm sure they will rebroadcast the Special soon, in case you missed it.

My partner, Leslie Greif and his group, especially the powerful and attractive Adam (who actually babysits the entire project), have been working their tails off. I saw a rough of the show and it's sweet (sweet as in cool). We're all having a great time doing this show together. They followed me to Las Vegas, where I attended the Computer Show at the Convention Center and the AVN Awards, where I was lucky to find myself escorting the beautiful Taylor Wayne. And, they also came with me to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras -- covering the madness of the city and climbing up with me on my float, which paraded throughout the city. No air date yet. Stay tuned.

It's great to catch up with you, Bruce. I'm really glad to see the Union DVD is out, man. Tell me a little about that.
The past month and a half has been really exciting. A DVD from the band I had with Corabi from 2001 was finally finished up and we got the rights to put it out. The reaction's been great. I'm selling it myself on my website, just like I did for my solo records. We only got to do a couple of club tours throughout the states. We did a little better when we went international. We couldn't get everywhere. It wasn't like a KISS tour where we got to travel everywhere. There were a lot of people that hadn't seen the band. They liked what they heard with the two discs we put out and they'll get to see us now. It's going really well and it's something I'm very pleased about.

Fans have been asking about that forever. It was also great to see KISS My Ass and Konfidential/Xtreme Close-Up out on DVD. That era of KISS is actually my favorite. My first concert was KISS on the Hot In The Shade tour.
Unfortunately sometimes that lineup is ignored. I know the fans that saw the band really respect what we were trying to do.

You always hear guitarists say how ACE FREHLEY influenced them but I think a lot has to be said for what you did with them.
Cool. I've heard that before and it's very flattering, especially with the makeup era being the icon of KISS. I've heard your sentiment many times.

The KISS demon has signed on to star in six episodes of VH1's Rock School, a reality series inspired by the hit movie, School of Rock, according to Daily Variety.

Only instead of Jack Black instructing classically-trained kiddies, the music net has tapped the fire-spewing, tongue-wagging bass player of the world's most outrageous glam band to offer up lessons in everything from how to don the monster makeup to presumably playing such KISS gems as "Lick It Up," "Calling Dr. Love" and "Rock and Roll All Night."

I just want to thank you for the concert you put on for the US Marines and families this past weekend at Camp Pendleton.

My son, Cody is 20 years old and is a US Marine who just got back from Iraq 2 weeks ago. I called him from a fastpitch softball tournament here in Oklahoma where his sister was playing and he said he was looking at pictures from the concert. I know the 6 months he was there was probably the most stressful time of our lives ever and am so grateful he is back on USA soil!!!!

I apologize for any typos but it's 4:30 AM and I just drove 2 hours from San Diego to LA after attending the Rockin' the Corps show at Camp Pendleton.

Even though KISS only performed 5 songs at tonight's Camp Pendleton show, it was my favorite KISS show ever! I have never been more proud to be a KISS fan then when a group of Marines broke into a mosh during "Detroit Rock City". Yes a mosh pit at a KISS show. And those Marines, the same Marines who battled in Operation Iraqi Freedom and lost some very close friends and fellow Marines from this base. The same Marines who were away from their wives, husbands, sons and daughters for a year. Can you imagine just being away from people you love that long, let alone doing what they do to protect all of us here in America? I can't. Well Tonight was their night, their thank you for all of their sacrifices and for all they do for us.

KISS performed "Detroit Rock City", "Deuce," "Love Gun," "God Gave Rock and Roll to You," and of course closed with "Rock and Roll All night" as over 40,000 appreciative Marines and their familes sang along as the confetti flew though the air and fireworks lit up the sky. I can honestly say that I only looked at KISS for maybe 5 minutes of their 30 minute set. I was too busy watching the troops and families enjoying themselves! I also can tell you that while the band sounded as tight as ever, it was not the music tonight that was the highlight of the KISS set. It was without a doubt PAUL STANLEY's speech thanking the troops for what they had done and continue to do for us. We all heard the speech during last years US tour but listening to the crowd cheer as Paul told the Marines they are the heros and seeing some Marines and family members actually wipe tears away gave me a chill!

CAMP PENDLETON – "Rockin' the Corps" was billed as a star-studded, patriotic event to thank 55,000 Marines and sailors whose San Diego units have suffered the highest casualty rates in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But with the outdoor concert being broadcast to U.S. military installations worldwide, it felt more like a celebration of courage and perseverance.

Former NBA all-star Karl Malone kicked off the evening by donating $100,000 to the Marine Corps. Then longtime rocker Ted Nugent played "The Star-Spangled Banner" a la Jimi Hendrix as some Marines stood at attention.
