His black-and-white facial makeup in perfect GENE SIMMONS form, 43-year-old Boonville, Ind., resident Anthony Yates vividly remembered meeting the KISS icon in person.

It was in 2003 at a book signing. Yates said he gave Simmons a seven-page essay he had written about the band, and Simmons signed several pictures for him.

Then Simmons posed for a snapshot with Yates, an image he proudly pulled from his wallet during Sunday afternoon's KISS Expo at the Airport Marriott.

Through the years, rumors abounded that an impending multi-volume KISS archival release was on the horizon, and just as quickly, those plans fell by the wayside.

Finally, last fall saw the release of "KISSology: Volume One 1974-1977," a 3-DVD collection crammed with vintage TV performances, concerts, promo clips and two historic Easter eggs (including the earliest known footage of KISS performing at Coventry circa December 1973, plus KISS performing sans makeup at ACE FREHLEY’s wedding).

I chatted with Kourosh Taj, the charismatic co-president and head of programming at No Good TV, on the eve of NGTV's announcement that it would make the move to late-night TV.

Located in Beverly Hills, Calif., NGTV was launched in 2000 and added Kourosh Taj -- a 14 year veteran of the music and entertainment industry -- to lead virtually every facet of the company from programming to content licensing. NGTV uses technology from Brightcove and Akamai to host its videos. It has received investments and continuing guidance from former chairman and CEO of A&M Records Al Cafaro, Co-President Jay Vir, and GENE SIMMONS, its chairman of the board.

That said, it's not about being uncensored for the sake of being uncensored. The site doesn't cater to "angry or violent" videos, says Taj. What it offers the viewer is a "relationship with a celebrity like you were having a beer with them." That ethos is why content deals with Superbad make perfect sense for the site.

After the successful release of 'KISSOLOGY Volume 2' last week we decided to run down ex-KISS guitarist BRUCE KULICK and ask a few questions regarding his era with the band and footage that was - or wasn’t - included in 'Volume 2'.

The first thing that grabs me is that there is no mention of Asylum or that particular tour in the menu. Why was it overlooked? (I see the live clip of "Tears Are Falling" during the 1987 menu, though…)

It has been a frustrating thing regarding the documentation of that tour. There is very little good stuff out there.

In a recent interview with The Times, Stanley spoke about his love for painting.

"I started painting about seven years ago when I got divorced," Stanley said of what led to his new career as a painter of abstract art. "My friends got tired of me ranting and screaming, and one of them suggested I take up painting, so I did.

Brian "Crush" Adams, best known to KISS fans as the original Demon Wrestler, died yesterday at age 44. According to the WWE website, he was found not breathing and unconscious by his wife at about 11a.m. Monday. He was later pronounced dead by arriving Fire Rescue workers.

Adams was the original KISS Demon wrestler, preceding Dale Torborg who later brought the facepaint and costume back into the ring. He can be seen here at his debut performance on stage with KISS in 1999 as the band performs God of Thunder on Monday Night Nitro.

The South Park Episode that featured PAUL STANLEY's song, "LIVE TO WIN," has been nominated for an Emmy!

The episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft" featured the song in a montage scene where the boys are "training" to defeat a ruthless opponent in an online video game.

Day 13 started off with some extra guitars for the song called "Life". I realized we missed some things from the demo, so we jumped in with my Gibson SG from 1965 and added some more guitar lines in the B sections. Jeremy worked up an idea on my ES 330. This song has really come along and it is very special in guitar textures. We didn't get too crazy with pedals but did have fun checking out the new Duncan designed LAVA BOX.

We moved onto getting some more parts done for "If I Could Show You", and then "What Love's All About". We wanted to work on a song called "I Will Survive" but we realized Jeremy needed to work a bit on the drum track before we would overdub on that song. I might keep some of the demo guitars on that track as well. We decided the guitar solo on "Life" would come from the demo cause it was just so perfect for the song.

QUESTION: Hi Eric, I have a cd called KISS Indiscreet, a club performance KISS did in Brooklyn just after you joined the band. On that show you used extreme double bass drumming ( which was awesome ). But as I heard you later in the band , especially on MTV Unplugged you had reverted back to the original patterns of the songs, was it hard to learn these patterns, and as a superb double-bass drummer, was it hard to do single kick-drumming? ANSWER (ERIC): Phil, first of all thank you for the email and props... As for double kick or single kick drum usage? It really depends on the band or songs. I am just as comfortable either way and have no problem playing more simplified if needed or asked. It really is about playing for the songs first and if there is more room to stretch then that is kool too! The KISS songs are not that complicated drum wise but rather require the feel and attitude to be more important in my opinion.

But on A&E's GENE SIMMONS: Family Jewels (Sundays at 9 pm/ET), the occasionally kabuki-faced father of two and partner of Shannon Tweed (don't dare call him a husband) is an iron-fisted paterfamilias and tireless businessman. We asked Simmons to wag his legendary tongue about his nonconformist lifestyle and the success of his series, which was recently renewed for a third season.

TV Guide: To what do you credit this show's success?
GENE SIMMONS: On the surface, there's nothing particularly exciting. People like train wrecks, but as much as we'll try to be Bobby and Whitney, we can't. It's not who we are. I've never been high or drunk in my life.

TV Guide: Your family life is conventional, but your relationship with Shannon is anything but. Do you consider your relationship with her an open one?
Simmons: All relationships are open. Don't believe there's any difference between a monogamous and a polygamous relationship. Those are all just big words, like "gymnasium." Human beings will do whatever the hell they want to do. [But] they lie about it, because they think they have to answer to somebody. I want Shannon to stay with me only because she wants to, not because she has to.

Have an interview with PETER CRISS currently airing on MSG Network in NY. This has been a fun gig and I have already interviewed a wide variety of artists including Meat Loaf, Shavo from SOAD, songwriter Jessie Harris, OAR and more in a short time on the network. This week I will interview Chris Cornell from backstage at The Beacon. I'll post air info in the TV section. Also look for me doing music reports in the MSG-NY show. Lot's of response to my interview with Peter in where I asked him if he would like one last show with KISS, with the original band, to provide in his eyes the proper closure on the original band. Peter answered he would, but only if everything was a fair 25% equal share for everyone. Like I always say folks, it's called the music BUSINESS! I'm sure you can see the entire conversation on YouTube and the MSG site. Peter's new CD is not a rock record, but he did tell me he has one coming next.
